Dancing On Volcanoes
Ten-gallon hats
So fake--so forced
Contrived from chiseled cowboys
Long buried in the dust
Knotted ribbons of concrete
Blaze a lonely trail
To Eldorado--To Val Halla
Or even Nirvana
Dancing on volcanoes
Past our dancing days
Hunger for the gold
Preserve our souls forever
But we eventually complete the circle
Back to the dusty sombreros and skulls
Left at random in the desert heat
So hot we are forced to dance, dance, dance, dance
