The Rescuer
A song about the Rescuer archetype. We often think of helping others as an act of pure, selfless love. However, within the study of archetypes—universal patterns of power—the rescuer dynamic is frequently revealed as a complex "power calculation" which often begins in childhood, fueled by stories and myths of heroes who want to be recognized for saving others. [See Carolime Myss's archetype list]

Jumping in
Throw an oar
Take a leap you never took before
Are you the rescuer or are you the saved?
Jump into the water, brace for the waves
Come on in, but tiptoe around
Put on the kid gloves
Don't make a sound
Are you a lover or are you a healer?
Looking for direction--looking for a teacher?
Better know your archetype
Lost and found
Put on the kid gloves
Keep your feet on the ground
Come on in, but tiptoe around
Put on the real gloves
Keep your boots on the ground
