Path of Our Ancestors

Darkness lifts the light
Reflecting from the east
Dawn is the siren that our spirits seek
Follow the salmon be it predator or prey
Single minded spirit will show us the way

Darkness still drifting in the mist to the west
Dawn is a siren that leads us on the quest
Talons of the eagle break the surface of the bay
Single minded spirit will show us the way

We all still remember
We all still forget
The path of our ancestors
They all intersect
From the point of our birth
To the point of our death
The path of our ancestors
They all intersect

An island of flowers reflects in the lake
The cry of the eagle so hungry for the snake
Speaking to the stars in our primitive tongue
All dancing on the rays of a million billion suns

The granite we scale
Erodes into dust
Boiling and burning beneath the shifting crust
Reaching for the stars with our curious hands
Dancing at the dawn of our hopeful plans

We all still remember
The path of our ancestors
From the point of our birth
The path of our ancestors

From the point of our birth
The path of our ancestors
We all still remember
We all still forget
The path of our ancestors
They all intersect
From the point of our birth
To the point of our death
The path of our ancestors
They all intersect

From the point of our birth
The path of our ancestors
They all intersect
