Meaning Falls Apart
A black-out lyric from an article, "Literature is not Data: Against Digital Humanities"
In retrospect, the internet was becoming more idiotic beginning around 2000. People probably started reading fewer books, to the detriment of society in general. I don’t know how anyone can be well-informed by reading everything online, or accessing everything online. Now with the entire internet being scraped and churned by AI, all the bad information gets pressed into spam, and we grow to like Spam. AI music is kind of a Spam if you're not balancing it with other nutritious foods.

Time is tangible in music because you are intimately entrained in it when you are performing it in real-time. But the feeling of time can vary within the musical space depending on how the body and mind are interacting with it...There is also the feeling of the race against the clock, where there can be a positive flow with just the right amount of time or a negative flow where time seems to be running out or has run out.

Meaning is fragile
Meaning falls apart
Meaning’s often ugly
As human as the heart
Disbanding of the papers
Texts to the wind
Our smooth machines
Are prey to disease
Our smooth machines
Controlled by the bots
Not a fluid sense of time
An asynchronous clock
Scraped and churned
Authors burned
You're never sure
What you learned
Earth is a smooth machine
But not a soft machine
Unbind the spines
Leave only lines
What you learned
(You're never sure)
Scraped and churned
(Authors burned)
Our smooth machines
The sand erodes the rock
Not a fluid sense of time
An asynchronous clock
